A marvellous piece of engineering history. This is a unique iron bridge as its still in service from the Industrial Revolution 1850. It isnt too far from the city centre and can be reached via two cycle paths north and south of the River Nen, which meanders its way to Ferry Meadows and on into Lincolnshire. This metal bridge is now sadly one of a kind, but is a Grade II listed building... a great back drop to Peterboroughs eclectic past. The River Nene stretches 161 miles, passing through four counties from its source in Northamptonshire stretching to Norfolk.
