AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!i have had no end of issues with Marmalade . Their black box systems are rubbish they dont record anything accuratelyi have had countless "red " journeys for going over the speed limit - i never went over the speed limit their satellites had the speed limit at 40mph when the road is a 60mph . Every time i had to call to explain they needed to fix their mapping. Dont think they ever did cos i always got marked down. i also got marked down for braking - and it was always coming up to roundabouts. I work in milton keynes which is known for it many roundabouts and their customer service told me "gently " ease on to the roundabouts and "not brake completely coming up to roundabouts". Not the kind of advice you expect an insurance company to be giving out. In my opinion this is not a safe system for new drivers - i spent more time watching my speed dial than watching the road because i was so worried id get a red journey . By far this made my driving worse. I drove with my driving instructor once to get his opinion and he said i drove perfectly but my score was 60% . Explain that to me Marmalade.My advice - spend the extra money and go with anyone else !
I used this for about 3 days or so and they allow for no refund for 30 days or less. Thats roughly 70 wasted. Not worth your money

Awful company constantly fining young drivers for the slightest mistakes..... like fining my son for braking too hard on approaching a bend...., whilst doing 15mph!!!! Biggest con insurance company going imo..... young drivers.... stay clear of this lot.... customer service is dreadful too.... Id give them -1 star if I could!!
Use this insurance on my Mums 1.0 Suzuki Alto at 80 a month. If you have the opportunity to use this insurance over any other black box insurance, I would choose this one. The black box is extremely lenient on my driving. Have gone over the speed limit by a lot on occasion (by accident ;) ) and it hasn't dropped my rating. Would recommend to anyone who can use it.
