It seems almost an impossible task to secure your pension from this appalling company. They are incompetent, inept and in my view they are deliberate in their attempts to delay you receiving your own money. Avoid at all costs- the worse firm I have dealt with in 40 years.
I am so fed up with this company, trying for several months now to cash in on my pension fund, they have received all the required documents from me, nothing is forthcoming. The office still seems to be closed, 7th January 2019, and their website seems to be down. This company is a nightmare!
Their management of a pension plan is as opaque as you can get. Their answers to basic questions is evasive to say the least. Investment returns of 0.05% per year and refuse to answer my questions on how much expenses they extract.Don't touch with a bargepole but buy their shares , they must be making millions in superprofits out of the pensions they "manage" at the policyholders expense.Quite why the regulators don't outlaw their "with- profit" products is beyond me.
My dad along with my uncle, been struggling with this useless company for nearly 6 months now and still not got his pension yet. Promised dates not met,Constant rubbish about paper work, lost important details in the post. This is not acceptable for pensioners to have to mess about like this!! I think a company like this should be investigated properly by outside sources.Luckily my dad's tougher than he looks, and for the sake of other that are not so lucky he's now taking them to court aswell as exposing these useless idiots for what they are.
If you have a Standard Life personal pension, endowment, capital investment bond etc. be prepared for Phoenix looking after it(ish). If you coming up to age 65 you best start nagging them at least 6 months prior.
